Kakhiani: "National Movement" Had No Legal Counterarguments at Constitutional Court

Parliament Deputy Chairman Giorgi Kakhiani says that a representative of the "National Movement" failed to present legal counterarguments at the Constitutional Court. In his assessment, the party used the court's platform for populism.
According to Kakhiani, one of the representatives of the "National Movement" spoke at yesterday's hearing about the party's position. He explained that the side talked about how good the "National Movement" government was and how much good it brought to the country.
"It was very interesting for us to hear the position of the "National Movement", because until now we did not know what legal counterarguments they had regarding our lawsuit. We had some expectation that they would say something at least from a legal point of view, but we saw that, in fact, the platform of the Constitutional Court was again used for populism and they talked about how good the "National Movement" government was and how much good it brought to our country", said Kakhiani.
He said that, apart from this, they did not hear any legal counterargument to the lawsuit. According to Kakhiani, these questions also arose for the court, and it tried to ask the side to specify what legal counterarguments it actually had.
Kakhiani noted that other representatives of the "National Movement" are present at today's hearing and will also be listened to carefully, although, in his words, it appears the party does not have counterarguments.
