Tajani: Pro-Russian hackers leaked personal data on darknet

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani has become the target of an attack by pro-Russian hackers. Reuters reports the information.

According to Tajani, the hackers obtained his personal data and leaked it on the so-called darknet. The minister explained that the attack is linked to the Italian government's support for Ukraine.

"My answer is very simple: they will not intimidate me. I will continue working to defend my ministry and Italy, and I will strengthen ties and cooperation with our allies so that we can jointly defend ourselves. Our position on Ukraine is the political reason why I became a target: defending the freedom of a sovereign state and supporting the democracy and independence of the country is dangerous for these criminals," Tajani said.

According to him, the hackers are ready to accept payment in exchange for additional information about him and his family members.

According to Reuters, Tajani's photo is "on a list of citizens hostile to the Russian Federation". The list contains 18 people. Besides Tajani, it also includes cybersecurity experts.
