GCCA-მ აჭარის ხუთივე მუნიციპალიტეტში მოსახლეობასთან საინფორმაციო შეხვედრები გამართა

A representative of the Georgian National Competition and Consumer Protection Agency (GCCA) in the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Tariel Giorgadze, held informational meetings with residents in the municipalities of Khulo, Shuakhevi, Keda, Khelvachauri and Kobuleti on October 22-23. The agency itself disseminated the information.

At the meetings, Giorgadze presented the activities, mandate and powers of the GCCA to participants. According to the agency, special attention was paid to the basic principles of competition policy and the protection of consumer interests. Consumer rights, mechanisms for their protection, and the possibilities of applying to the agency in case of rights violations were discussed.

One of the main topics of the presentation was the new electronic portal ekalata.gov.ge. It was created within the framework of short-term measures, based on the initiative of the Prime Minister and the conclusion of the parliamentary commission studying the price formation structure of food products.

Participants were thoroughly introduced to the operating principle, practicality and purpose of the portal. Through it, consumers can obtain information on prices and offers for basic food and non-food products in a unified electronic space, compare prices across different retail chains, and make informed choices. According to the agency, the portal also contributes to strengthening competition in the market and protecting consumer interests.

The meetings are part of the awareness-raising and consumer rights protection activities carried out by the GCCA. They were held in cooperation with the local self-government bodies of the municipalities and aim to raise the awareness of citizens living in the regions.
