Four Minors Detained in Tbilisi for Robbery and Theft

Officers of the Juvenile Affairs Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained four minors at different times. They face charges of robbery committed by a group under prior agreement, attempted robbery, theft and causing a less severe injury to health.

According to the Ministry, the minors took products of various values and cash from a network of grocery stores in Tbilisi with the aim of unlawful appropriation, and then fled the scenes.

During the investigation, footage from surveillance cameras installed in the commercial facilities was seized, as well as recordings from the mobile phone of one of the detainees. According to the Ministry, this confirms the actions of the suspects.

The investigation established that two of the detained minors seized mobile phones from citizens, while another minor, in addition to theft, inflicted a less severe injury to health on a citizen.

As a result of the minors' actions, commercial facilities and individuals suffered total damage exceeding GEL 15,000.

All four minors were detained as suspects by court order, following operational measures and investigative actions.

The investigation is being conducted under Articles 178, 19-178, 177 and 118 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provide for imprisonment of up to 8 years.
