Krechetov: Georgian Delegation to Attend Patriarch Kirill's 80th Birthday Celebration

The rector of the St. George Church of Georgians in Moscow, Fyodor Krechetov, said that a Georgian delegation will attend the jubilee of Russian Patriarch Kirill. He made the statement on October 28 at the presentation of the foundation "Unity of Russians and Georgians". Patriarch Kirill will turn 80 on November 20.
According to Krechetov: "The relationship between the two churches has always been brotherly, and it persisted even in the most difficult moments. Of course, one of the main roles was played by the late Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II. Now that His Holiness has already passed away before the Lord, relations nevertheless continue. Now there will be the jubilee of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, and a Georgian delegation will be there".
To verify the information, the head of public relations of the Orthodox Church of Georgia, Dean Andria Jaghmaidze, was contacted, but they have not yet received a response.
On the same day, a round table discussion on restoring Russia-Georgia relations was held in Moscow, during which the foundation "Unity of Russians and Georgians" was established. One of the founders of the foundation is former Georgian Prosecutor General Otar Romanov-Partskhaladze, who attended the presentation. The foundation is headed by pro-Russian politician and businessman Mamuka Pipia.
According to the founders, the main goal of the foundation is "the development of ties between countries and the restoration of diplomatic relations".
