Artkmeladze: Banning Parties Will Destroy in One Stroke What Was Built Over 35 Years

Tornike Artkmeladze, a member of "Strong Georgia - Lelo", told reporters after today's session of the Constitutional Court that banning political parties will destroy in one stroke what has been built with difficulty over the past 35 years. In his words, this will be irreparable damage to Georgian democracy.

According to Artkmeladze, "Georgian Dream" wants only itself to exist in the political field.

"This is preparation so that, at the first stage, the political field is cleared of political parties, and then any active individual is banned from political activity. Representatives of non-governmental organizations have already been banned from working, and of course, the next turn is for people actively involved in politics, so that they no longer have the opportunity to be in this field. We have no doubt that this is a continuation of this process," Artkmeladze said.

According to him, "Georgian Dream" does not understand that there are at least a million people in the country who will not give up their freedom and will definitely say their word.
