Bolsonaro's party recognizes Lula's victory in Brazil election

Brazil's Liberal Party of Flavio Bolsonaro has recognized the victory of the country's incumbent president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, in the second round of the presidential election. Reuters reports this.

"We recognize the results of the presidential election, but we believe that the problems that have arisen should be given a detailed answer," said the party's leader Valdemar Costa Neto.

Earlier, after the results were announced, Flavio Bolsonaro said that he had demanded the annulment of Lula's victory. According to him, the basis was that the country's Supreme Court extended the voting process by two hours.

US President Donald Trump also commented on the election results. "I did not support either side, but it looked like another rigged election. I think the election, namely the counting of votes, looked very bad. Extending the voting period was very strange," Trump said.
