Nikoloz Khatiashvili, a member of the Political Council of the Justice for Georgia party, believes that the European Union has tried for the past two years not to burn bridges completely, but this has not worked. According to him, the issue of banning opposition parties could lead to sanctions or other financial steps from the European Union and the United Kingdom. Khatiashvili made this statement on the Palitranius program "Free Studio" while speaking about the resolution adopted by the European Parliament on Georgia.

"I think that the issue of [banning] parties may well become the final trigger, which will be followed by other types of steps," Khatiashvili said. In his assessment, the support for the resolution, which was backed by 445 deputies with 37 voting against, shows full consensus in Europe on the assessment of the actions of Georgian Dream.
