At an international tournament held in Turkey, Abkhazia's young gymnasts were not allowed to perform under the flag of Abkhazia. This was reported by the Telegram channel of Kan Tania, a representative of the de facto government of Abkhazia.

According to the channel, the Georgian side expressed a protest over the participation of Abkhaz athletes, and the organizers took it into account.

According to information provided by Tania, the athletes had been preparing for the competition for years and planned to represent Abkhazia at the tournament.

"Children's sport should remain outside politics, but Tbilisi decided otherwise," Tania writes.

In her assessment, this case contradicts statements by the Georgian government about peaceful coexistence, trust and people-to-people diplomacy.

Tania describes the Georgian government's action as "hostility toward children." According to her, young athletes and coaches presented Abkhazia with dignity.
