Zelensky: Attacks on Ukraine Are Russia's Response to Signals from America

The events unfolding in Ukraine are a clear Russian response to the signals Moscow is receiving from America. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote about this on social media.

According to him, unfortunately, there are dangerous signals about the possibility of easing sanctions further. Zelensky said: "These sanctions were imposed by the world - America, Europe and our partners - in response to Russia's aggression against Ukraine and the war waged against us. Nothing has changed. The war has not stopped. The sanctions must not be lifted. Russia must stop the slaughter that it started itself and that has continued for 1,695 days now. Giving more money to finance the killings will not help stop it. Strength is needed, and America is stronger than Russian terror".

According to Zelensky, Russian forces attacked an ordinary store in Odesa Oblast with Shahed drones. The store was partially destroyed, cars were damaged, and three people were injured.

According to the president, since last evening attacks have been carried out on the oblasts of Kirovohrad, Dnipro, Odesa, Rivne, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Poltava and Ivano-Frankivsk. In Kropyvnytskyi three people were killed, and another three in Dnipro Oblast.

Zelensky noted: "It is important that partners help us protect ourselves from this. Residential buildings, stores, energy and other critical infrastructure are practically under constant attack. We do not even have one hour of peace".

In his own statement: "It is obvious that Russia deliberately chose the path of escalating attacks after it achieved easing of sanctions and saw attempts to put pressure on Ukraine. Russia is using such opportunities and must be held responsible for its actions. Firm decisions are needed to end this war. Ukraine needs constant support, above all in terms of air defense. From partners we need sincerity regarding this war: it is important that everyone in America stands on the side not of the aggressor, but of our efforts aimed at saving lives, ending the war and ensuring security".
