According to the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance, an investigation is underway into "Georgian Post". Which article the investigation is being conducted under is currently unknown: the service's press office does not respond to additional questions.

Yesterday, October 7, at a government session, Irakli Kobakhidze said that over the past years "Georgian Post" ended up in the red every year. According to him, this year will be the first when the company goes into profit, and this is the result of specific changes.

According to Kobakhidze, optimization of staff positions saved 2.5 million lari, and optimization of loss-making service centers saved 1.1 million lari. According to him, some services had been outsourced to intermediary companies. "These intermediary companies were a good means of corruption. The relevant agencies will probably determine this", Kobakhidze said.

According to the Prime Minister, these services have been returned to "Georgian Post", and the company will have an additional annual income of 14.2 million lari.

On September 1, 2025, it became known that Giorgi Eradze had become the Secretary General of "Georgian Post". According to the Public Registry data, he is the director of LLC "Space Cargo" and LLC "Cargonauts". Eradze also holds shares in LLCs: "Group Under Umbrella", "Businesslab", "Lego Food", "Red Spiritus" and "Cargonauts".

Before this post, Levan Chikvaidze held it for 13 years. He was the Director General of "Georgian Post" from November 2012 until the summer of 2025.
