Results of Khulutsi Fortress-Hall Rehabilitation Presented to Public

"Movement for Cultural Heritage" presented to the public the historic spaces renewed as a result of the large-scale rehabilitation of the Khulutsi fortress-hall. The event was held on the territory adjacent to the fortress-hall.
According to the organizers, as a result of the completed work, the monument, which has endured centuries, is regaining its original historic appearance. The reservoir and the protected cellar were renewed, and the infrastructure was organized, which creates a new stage in the development of the monument. The fortress-hall is again ready to receive visitors.
At the event, actor Zviad Dolidze read poems by Lado Asatiani to the guests, while the colors of the Georgian flag were projected onto the walls of the fortress-hall against the backdrop of the Georgian anthem.
According to Zviad Dolidze, "It was a moment that engulfed the entire fortress and seemed to truly bring to life the history of the 17th century. The clashing of swords, the authentic costumes of the Georgian Traditional Martial Arts Federation, and the spectacle transported the guests into the past — as if we all traveled together beyond the centuries".
The rehabilitation works began in 2021-2023 on the initiative of activists. The restoration was preceded by a preparatory stage: scanning of the monument, geological and wall stone studies. The area was cleared of trees and bushes, and a safe and comfortable path was built to the fortress-hall, which made the monument easier to visit.
Nino Burchuladze, head of the "Movement for Cultural Heritage", said at the event: "We should not only be proud of our cultural heritage, we should also love it and take care of it! Today we are all together writing a new history of Khulutsi".
According to her, the main goal of the organization is to not only restore cultural monuments to their original appearance, but also to return them to the living historic and tourist map of the country. According to Burchuladze, the Khulutsi fortress-hall must become a site that every guest visiting Georgia must see and be proud of.
