Unfortunately, we often come across difficult information on social networks about children who are fighting serious illnesses. Our hearts ache for them, we pray, and whoever can, stands by them, although perhaps very few know what path these children are going through.
In recent days, many parents have been writing about the unbearable conditions at the Iashvili Clinic, where oncology patients are treated. One of them is Nana Mitiani, whose child died.
“M. Iashvili Central Children’s Hospital – I cannot remain silent! You invite people to these wards and offer high-quality treatment, have you completely lost your morals and ethics! I would like to ask Mr. Ivane Chkheidze, when was the last time you were in the oncohematology department?
I suspect, probably when Mrs. Asmat Shengelaia’s granddaughter had a cold and half of the department was blocked. You marched in to examine her (at three in the morning you took Nurse Mary out of the house, just because you didn’t trust the nurses on duty, because if they had to argue with her a second time and she was too much of a pain.

Don’t you think for a second about the mothers whose children’s lives hung in the balance? Maybe if you loved your child, I loved my Niniko even more!). That was five years ago, and maybe you should have come in now and seen the situation in which you treat small incompetent patients…
Do you know how healthy my Niniko was? She never even bit a nail, and we diagnosed her with leukemia. Your children are doomed, but no one is safe. Who will be given a similar diagnosis tomorrow? Even if we come to you, we will fly on a special flight that very day to the world’s leading clinic and save her!
Why haven’t you thought about the mothers whose children are fighting fungus because of this unsanitary situation, mothers who don’t have the means to buy quality antifungal medicine and watch their children slip away just because they have fungus in their lungs. The doctor will shrug his shoulders and say, what can we do, in your child’s case we lost, you were among the 30% losers, the child’s body couldn’t handle it, etc.
Yet you often appear on television and preach about the invisible enemy, hygiene, infections and bacteria, when you have a pig in the most needed place and you have terrified parents trapped.
Those who quickly find information run away and save themselves, but those who are unable to do this, what have they done wrong, they also want to live.
These children need complete nutrition, you don’t have your one cup of salafavi and two slices of bread. They have an appetite due to the hormones they are taking and constantly demand food. I have seen similar feeding in movies, where prisoners are fed from buckets.
Come to your senses, it is not necessary to shoot us and kill us like that! You are indirectly killing our children with complicated infections, everyone will be held accountable before the law sooner or later. And there you will have our tortured children. You will not have a single tear of a mother or child left!..
The first shock I received was one toilet for 40 children and their parents. We were soon transferred to the second floor, to a “department equipped to the European standard”, where in two months the inventory, extractors and filters were out of order, which the administration was proud of.
I will tell you more, cockroaches and mice started running around in the ward. I was walking the child and when we got out, there was a cat lying in the bed, in the child’s bed, for whom even a small infection could be fatal due to his low immunity.
Poor quality medicines, which I learned about after finishing the first course, I was holding such a healthy child in my arms, we never needed a doctor too much and, therefore, I did not have the medical education to know what I was dealing with. There is a terrible information vacuum, you can’t come to your senses, you are afraid to ask something, lest the doctor get angry and your child miss out on treatment.
Constant cursing and fighting will not give us results, real steps need to be taken, the sooner this happens, the less the child will die. Life will be doomed.
I know it’s cruel to hear this, for those who are currently undergoing treatment, but it’s better to be scared and run away from there now than to be scared and run away later. I wish I had scared someone and run away, now I would have a completely different reality.
We also know that running away is not a solution, we have been to Europe and Asia, but in vain, because we have run out of resources here.
I dream that a consensus will be reached between parents and doctors, that we will sit down together and discuss the best conditions for oncology patients, quality treatment and medications… There are many problems that have not been and cannot be fixed for years…” – writes Ms. Nana Mitiani.
